From a young age, I enjoyed a number of artistic pursuits such as, drawing, jewellery making, craft and sculpture.
Working as a florist at the age of 15 I found that I had an ability for colour & design. Later in the 1980’s a company engaged me to design and create a variety of dried flower baskets. As the business grew, I taught a team of people to produce more of these flower baskets. The baskets where distributed to a number of department stores for sale around the country & even appeared on a television series.
As a young child I liked to drawing animals but I moved into portraiture around 10 to 12 yrs of age. Later I pursued a few drawing classes at a local Tafe College and joined a womens drawing group, which gave me regular oppurtunity and challenge of drawing the human form each week. Over a six year period I worked along side some very talented artists and gained a lot of skills from the experience. In 1996 I exhibited a pastel painting that sold at a local art gallery, which gave me the confidence to further pursue my interests. While I lived in Canberra I took some extra study in portraiture with a private tutor.
I enjoy creating original digital fine art from still life and photography blending traditional methods like painting and drawing with modern digital computer art. This is one of the latest methods of producing original works then publishing as prints, using the same digital printing systems as giclée reproductions.
My favourite subject has always been adult portraiture, art brings alot of satisfaction and I could spend many hours on some projects!
